People do see the beauty, that we don't see in ourselves

I'm still linked to a facebook page were a whole bunch of girls who are involved in the subculture of "hardcore" interact. A fellow member posted this video.  It may be sponsored by a company like Dove but it does point out the way women see themselves. This may also be contributed to the way we compare ourselves to what we see and what we want to be with the additive of advertisements all around us that define what beauty is.

Of course I'm going to post about this because what was the ideology that was embedded in punk before people turned it into such a fashion trend (even though it did include it's own fashion trend before it entered into the fashion business)

The idea that we don't submit under these corporations. Food, Clothing, Advertising for EVERYTHING.

A year later the 2012 video comes out. It's not as good as last years and I chose a shorter song. The resolution is not as high because I edited it on iMovie rather than Final Cut Pro. (I wanted to finish it quicker)I didn't get as much varied footage so excuse me for having a lot of the same people in it. 

This is my last video as of now I don't think I'll be attending next year.

Regardless, Chicago has a strong scene that has consistently chosen to do do its own thing instead of mimicking what is popular elsewhere. Chicago bands traditionally make honest music without any notion that they will be the next breakout band.

NO DELUSIONS examines the past 20 years of Chicago hardcore punk with an emphasis on how it has evolved into scene it is today.

I met Steven C. in NY at a 108 show 2009-2012 (not sure). I knew he had a documentary in the works but I did not know it was 20 years in the making. I'm impressed and can not wait to get a chance to see it for myself.

4th Anual Los Angeles Anarchist Bookfair

Sorry for this end of the month post about something that happened at the beginning of the month.
I let my shyness get the best of me when taking photos, which led me to hardly taking any. I wasn't there during the whole event but I was stoked to see to check out what was left. Here are the few photos I took (that arn't the greatest).

Here is a video that was posted on the LAABF fb.

 There was an awesome array of books and zines. Black Circle press was there (check them out). Got some patches of Thirteeneightyfour Screen Printing. There was even a sex toy table! When I left I it was surrounded by people. I was in search of a cook book and this caught my eye since my best friend gave me her zines. I've only skimmed through it but I cant wait to read it and cook something from it.

This is an important thing if you want to record shows to share with your friends, people out of state or even out of the country.  I have been in the same predicament when I would record shows a while back. It's great that we have someone like Sunny with so much passion to be involved and share everything he films.
